Aston Swann presents at BCS Qualifications Forum
Aston Swann have been asked by the British Computer Society (BCS) to present their experience of "The Implementation of ECDL in Schools" at the BCS Qualifications National Forum 2005 at the ICC Birmingham on May 9th.
As Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) Aston Swann is delighted to share their wealth of experience in delivering ECDL and its associated qualification, the BCS IT User Certificate, to the education sector.
Debbie Skyrme, Education Programme Developer, Aston Swann says, "In response to the enthusiasm of teachers continuing their professional development with our ECDL for Educators courseware we were pleased to support the delivery of the ECDL syllabus to pupils in the 14 to 19 age group with the launch of our dedicated ECDL for Students courseware at BETT 2005 earlier this year. The ECDL for Students courseware uses engaging contextual examples to make the ECDL syllabus relevant to the interests of pupils."
"The ECDL for Students courseware is task based rather than being driven by functionality and, as well as empowering pupils to achieve an international, employer-recognised qualification, is ideal for compiling a portfolio of evidence for supporting qualifications such as IT Key Skills and DiDA [Diploma in Digital Applications]."
Further to their discussions with QCA, Aston Swann is pleased to present clarification of the options and implications of a school's choice between GCSE IT, the ECDL and the BCS IT User Certificates, and look forward to chatting with delegates and colleagues on Stand 3 at the forum.
