Does ECDL attract UCAS points?
The UCAS Tariff was first introduced for 2002 entry to Higher Education. It is a numerical system that gives value to a wide range of qualifications within the National Qualifications Framework.
- The ECDL qualification itself, does not attract UCAS points.
- The BCS IT User Level 2 certificate (which incorporates ECDL) is a "proxy" qualification for IT Key Skills Level 2
- IT Key Skills Level 2 has a value of 10 UCAS points
Therefore, in registering for IT Key Skills Level 2, students who have already achieved the BCS IT User Level 2 Certificate will only be required to complete their portfolio of evidence to complete the IT Key Skills Level 2 qualification and gain 10 UCAS points towards entry to Higher Education
