How does ECDL fit the National Qualifications Framework?
- In England, the BCS Certificates for IT Users Level 1 & 2 incorporate the ECDL qualification and are recognised in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
- Level 1 comprises ECDL modules 1, 2 & 7
- Level 2 comprises ECDL modules 3, 4, 5 & 6 plus additional Unit E
- This means the BCS IT User Level 2 Certificate (incorporating ECDL) attracts 46 school performance indicator points (in England) equivalent to a GCSE grade B
- Plus! The BCS IT User Level 2 Certificate (incorporating ECDL) is a "proxy" qualification for IT Key Skills Level 2
IT Key Skills Level 2 attracts 35 performance indicator points and also has a value of 10 UCAS points for students seeking entry to Higher Education.
