Workforce Remodelling - ICT in Schools Grant 31aSource: www.remodellingteam.org Schools might consider the ECDL for Educators courseware as part of their Workforce Remodelling programme. Education Authorities are encouraged to take into account Standards Fund 31a to fund training. Workforce Remodelling supports the Hands On Support (HOS) initiative (read link below)

School Development Grant (inc former 508b for School Support Staff Training and Development)Source: www.dfes.gov.uk/ictinschools/funding/composite.cfm?partid=37 To help schools focus on the Standards Fund as a single amount the general, formula led grants for schools have been brought together into a single School Development Grant (SDG) Funding may be used as for the former School Support Staff Training and Development i.e. for "Basic skills training for all support staff who need it" Education Authorities and Schools are encouraged to take into account the School Development Grant to fund training with ECDL for Educators courseware.

ECDL is now defined within National Qualifications Framework (NQF). BCS Certificates for IT Users Level 1 & 2 attract school league points (to be confirmed). Level 1 comprises ECDL modules 1, 2 & 7 Candidates registering for BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL Part 2) will automatically gain registration for the full ECDL Certificate and may optionally gain this certification on completion of BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL Part 1) (or the three remaining ECDL tests). The qualification numbers for the BCS qualifications are :
Training organisations and independent schools are encouraged to take into account Learning Skills Council resources to fund training with ECDL for Educators courseware.

Teachers in need of ICT training are one of the groups that have benefited previously through the National Union of Teachers (NUT) ‘Developing ICT Skills for Teachers’ project. Trade union members are encouraged to take into account Union Learning resources to fund training with ECDL for Educators courseware.
